Zero Trust Networking

Our name is a reference to the Black Core network architecture a US Department of Defense (DoD)-sponsored working group proposed as the primary pattern for the DoD's Global Information Grid (GIG) initiative (2008. Tarr, Julie and Tony DeSimone. "Defining the GIG Core". IAnewsletter: The Newsletter for Information Assurance Technology Professionals 11(2): 4-9.). The Black Core concept describes a network architecture where all traffic is end-to-end encrypted between all endpoints. Although the US DoD never fully implemented the Global Information Grid, the Black Core concept survived and later became the foundation of the architectural pattern now commonly known as Zero Trust Networking. We take our inspiration from this Black Core concept, and see it as applicable to more than just networks. We live in increasingly surveillance-oriented societies. While this works to our advantage from an intelligence-gathering perspective, one of our main aims is to defend our clients against pervasive surveillance in both the digital and physical worlds. We see Black Core as an important part of safeguarding our clients' privacy and security.
